Cleaning up the Bristol Frome
Shopping trolleys, a street sign and a cone were among the items cleared from the River Frome. Volunteers filled 15 bags with litter and plastics and learned about its impact on the environment.
The event, funded by the Catchment Partnership Fund, was organised by the River Frome Reconnected officer with Yate Town Council and delivered by Bristol Avon Rivers Trust. Over 20 people joined councillors and other volunteers. It was a really great morning cleaning up the river Frome from Templar road to Crowthers and surrounding areas, and only took 1.5 hours to collect this huge pile of rubbish (Image below).
