What is the Catchment Plan?
The Catchment Plan provides a clear and ambitious focus for partners working across the catchment, proving a steer on the partnership’s agreed priorities and actions. The Catchment Plan should be used to guide the development of environmental strategies in the region, as well as guiding where project-based collaboration and delivery should be focused.
In the delivery of the Catchment Plan partners should always seek to communicate widely in an open and transparent way, work collaboratively, link-up actions and align with existing partnership projects and funding mechanisms, ensure actions are evidence-led and consider the need for monitoring of progress against actions.
The plan has four key aims, there are:
- Enhance people’s enjoyment and connection with the water environment
- Improve water quality
- Restore biodiversity and ecological connectivity
- Adapt and build resilience to a changing climate.
Within each of these aims, the plan contains a series of objectives and high-level actions.
